Kids LOVE it! October 5, 2009 J. K. Freedman (Knoxville, TN) My son LOVES his mustang! He drives this car every chance he gets. While we are happy that we purchased this the mustang has a design flaw - the car isn't weighted heavily in the back end and as a result it "spins out" when taking off in either forward or reverse. My son thinks it's cool but it resulted in us needing to get new tires on the car just 7 months after we purchased it (the car does have a 1 year bumper to bumper warranty so the tires were covered) and we will have to purchase tires again in the future as he has already begun to wear out the new set. I can say that we are getting our money's worth out of this car!
Good Choice until they make the new Camaro Power Wheels! September 19, 2009 Paul Michael Owens (Roxboro, NC USA) My dad has a real one, so my kid can relate. It was easy to put together, and the stickers on. The quick release battery pops out the car easily and plugs right up and after your initial charge it can regain its charge overnight. The slow gear is a good walking speed, but if you are in the country it spins the tires easily. Fortunately when you decide to remove the screw in the gearshift, you can get to high gear and it moves pretty good on slight inclines on dirt roads and fields. Still won't go up big hills out here in the sticks, but I guess on the pavement it would be good. It's almost a slight jog and definitely a speed walk if you are trying to keep up in high gear. It holds up good and been wrecked several times and still looks real good. A year and a half later it has just some scuffs. My son got it on his 4th birthday, and still rides it today, the battery holds up pretty good, maybe a mile before you need to charge it. If they come out with a new Camaro Power Wheels (Has to be faster than the Mustang, just like in real life.) :-) i'd get one of those also.
Tough, tough, tough! July 13, 2009 B. Rusk (Pasadena, TX United States) We bought one for our 4 year old 2.5 years ago.
This thing is tough! When she was learning she crashed it alot and jsut a few scratches to show.
She now drives well, but still loves to ride off the curbs and treat it like a 4-wheeler!
At one time I have seen this car carry her and two 12-14 year olds! This thing actually moved well with all those girls piled on it!
I would highly recommend this to any one.
I even added some LED lights on a switch to it to make it visible in the evening, as these are small and disappear in the dark. I'd love to see fisher-price build them all with lights.
It finally wore out hte rear wheels this weekend. They do spin alot when you first give it "gas", but that is actually a designed in action to keep from putting too much stress on the motor gears and prolong their life.
My little girl just thinks that's cool to spin out like they do in the movies!
great litte car!!! October 20, 2008 Amber J. Winiarski We are so pleased with this little car!!! Some of the other reviews said that it didn't do well on hills or grass but we have had no issues with that. We bought the car for my 4 year old birthday and he and his 17 mo little brother just LOVE it!!! Their hot little car is the talk of the neighborhood. We are impressed with the kick it has and you acutally have to jog to keep up with it in the higher speed. It's just a really nice little car. Well, worth the money!!!
great but why do they always put those plastic wheels? October 9, 2008 Sun Kim (Los Angeles, CA) The car is great and long battery life. Not to fast and not too slow. But those plastic wheels just have to go. Why can't they use real rubber or something?
